Family and Friends,
I hope everything is going great up there in the States. I was informed that a snowstorm passed through Colorado. That doesn´t happen here in Perú, at least here in the south. Another transfer day today, but for the second time in my mission, I don´t have to transfer. It´s fine with me because my companion is great and we´re doing some great work here in Monterrico. I asked my companion what was something exciting that happened this week and she said that we achieved the goal of 6 investigators at church yesterday. I feel bad that I totally forgot because it really was something exciting. Other than that nothing new and we´re ready to take on this new transfer. Hope you all have a great week!
Love Always,

Family and Friends,
Great week this week! My companion and I had the opportunity to help 3 people enter into the waters of baptism this Saturday. As always, it was a great experience.
From the left: Hermano Fierro, His Son (he helped baptize), Elder Siguenza, Leonardo, Giselle, Ana, Myself and Hermana Toral, Leonardo and Giselle are brother and sister and Ana, her son was baptized a few weeks ago and we were able to teach her and help her be baptized. It was a great experience!
So we heard this week that the Pope resigned or something like that. Well funny story time: Pope in Spanish is El Papa and potato in Spanish is La Papa. Well while contacting someone he asked about el papa and I said well it doesn´t talk about la papa in the bible so I don´t know much about that. He didn't realize that I said "the potato" but my companion did and I did too so we had to contain our laughters while trying to teach him the truth of what´s up. Just some spanish humor for you all. When we got home we had a good laugh about it, because really I don´t understand why pope in spanish is basically the same as potato.

Family and Friends,
Thanks for reading my blog, don´t think I´ve expressed my gratitude but thank you all for the support! Life here in the field is going great! Tons of teaching and learning going on here. Really nothing out of the ordinary is happening these days here. I just asked my companion what was something exciting that happened this week and she told me it was when she killed a cockroach the other day. Really that´s all the exciting news I´ve got from here down south. Next week I´ll have more and maybe even a picture! So get excited! Take care this week!

Buenas Dias!
I hope everyone had a great week! I recieved my new companion! Her name is Hermana Toral and here she is: She´s from Ecudaor and is part of this mission. She´s 20 years old and seriously so great! She´s adapting to the missionary life with me as I´m training her here in Monterrico. She really is a great missionary and is ready to do work which I love.
The missionary work is coming along quite nicely. We are helping some great people progress towards baptism and I love doing my job and part in the process. Personally I´ve learned so much about so many different things here in Monterrico and I´m grateful for all the experiences I´ve had and will have in the time to come.
Just an update, today I´m going to get my haircut for the first time since April of last year. I´m so afriad to do it here in Perú´s salons, so the President´s daughter offered to cut my hair. I´m pretty excited for a new look.
That´s all the exciting news that I have from Perú. Until next time, have a great week!
Love Always,

Familia y Amigos,
Welcome to the mission, today is the day of transfers...again. My companion went to Colombia, because her visa came. Tomorrow I´ll be receiving my new companion who I´ll be training. I hope we´ll be able to stay together for a while and I can finish the entire 12 weeks of the training with her. (With all the changes I´ve only ever made it to the 3 week mark with the training program.) So today and part of tomorrow I´m in a trio with some other hermanas who are also going to train. We´ll see if there are any 19 year old hermanas that are coming in. In total there are going to be 46 new missionaries (3 Hermanas), I´m pretty sure its the most that have ever entered in one time, as far as I know. With the age requirements lowered, lots and lots of missionaries are coming in, but they´re entering in so fast that they don´t have their visas to actually go to their missions. This means that some come here to our mission, waiting here in Lima until it comes. It´s the life of the mission, coming and going, teaching and learning so many new things every day from so many different people. Really that´s all the news I´ve got from down south. Everything is going great here in Monterrico; it´s nice and hot here in the summer time and no they don´t have air conditioning anywhere. Hope you all are enjoying your winter up there in the States. I hope you have a great a week!

Greetings from Perú!
I hope everyone had a great week! Nothing really new here in Perú, everything is going great. Here´s a picture of me and my companion, Hermana Vizurraga.
She´s going to go to Colombia for her mission and she´s here waiting for her visa in these coming days. She´s from Perú and we´re here in Monterrico together.
Really nothing new coming from down here in the South. The sun and summer is coming on and we can feel it everyday. I love it. Have a great week!

Greetings from Monterrico, Surco, Lima, Perú!
What a week to say the least. I had an emergency transfer because I was being eaten by bugs. Yup bugs. The first round of bug bites happened about two weeks ago, they all gave me an infection and then my feet swelled all up, sorry it´s gross. Then I was cured and working hard. Then just as I finished the pills of anitbiotics I got a new round of more bug bites and another infection and I swelled up. The mosquitos here are different than America and my body doesn´t like them at all. Well the President was super worried about my health so he called me on Monday night and informed me that I had a emergency transfer to Monterrico here in Lima and that I had to be in the office at 12 noon the next day. Well that night I packed all my stuff up and at 6:30am was off in the bus to Lima. I arrived, talked more with the President who told me he needed me here in Lima for my health (because there aren´t as many bugs here) and that I was going to do good work here in Monterrico, he´s the best. Well really the transfer time isn´t over, but we received 9 new missionaries that are temporary waiting for their visas, so that´s why I was able to get a new companion and what not. Mine is named Hermana Vizurraga from Huancayo Perú. She´s going to serve in Colombia and she already has her visa and at the end of the month is going to her mission; and then I´ll get another new companion. There´s the story that´s how I ended up here in Lima again. I know I´m supposed to be here and I´m ready to do work.
Monterrico had Elders here on Monday and now we´re opening up the area with Hermanas. Our area lives up to its name, Monterrico, (which translates into rich hill) and it´s HUGE. We have to take buses and taxis and then a lot of walking wherever we go. We still don´t know much of the routes and what not so we get lost almost everyday. It really is an adventure.
It was hard to leave my companion and my area in Ica, but I truly know this is where I need to be at this time in my mission. I hope you all have a great week!

Happy 2013!
Well 2012 went by way too fast, that's for sure. I hope everyone had a safe and happy time ringing in the New Year. I was pretty much asleep but I think I heard people counting down to ringing in the New Year, if I'm not mistaken it wasn't part of my dream. Really nothing too exciting happened here in Peru this week. It's super hot here in Ica. The climate is like Colorado in the summer time. Hot during the day and cool with a little breeze at night. We have to drink A LOT of water everyday and the sun still drains you. Fortunately, with training my companion we are inside study during the hottest parts of the day so it's not too bad. I really hope everything is going great wherever you may be! I hope this new year brings on new goals and great things in your life.

New Years Eve 2012
Happy New Year! (Well Almost)
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and are ready to bring on the New Year! Christmas here was nice and warm, it was cloudy but still pretty hot. I had the privilege to talk to my parents and that was the best Christmas present I received, well right after the present of finding an entire family to teach this past week as well. We found a family and the parents are married, which is a miracle, and they have 3 beautiful daughters, 2 of which are old enough to be baptized. It was really a special experience finding this family and we're doing all we can to make sure they progress. We're super excited! It was something super special. Well I hope you all have a great and safe time bringing in the New Year!

PS I hate bugs.

Christmas Eve 2012
Seasons Greeting from Ica!
I hope everyone is having a great and safe holiday season! Here in Ica life is going great. It's all a new experience that's for sure. Last week I got my new companion on Tuesday and then we arrived that night. On Wednesday we got to know a few investigators that we have, then the rest of the week we worked. We're looking for people to teach, getting to know the area. Here it is so hot during the day, but in the night it cools down. We have to drink A LOT of water everyday. But no complaints, because it's part of the work. It's pretty interesting opening up an area. There are already Elders here in our ward (we're a total of 4) they work in one part and we work in the other. Our house is SUPER nice. Pretty much a mansion when it comes to missionary standards, spacious bathroom, kitchen, dining room (rareity that's for sure), study area and sleeping area. We love it.
Here's a picture of me and my new companion, Hermana Rivera from Hondorus. She just came out of the MTC here in Peru and is super great!
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time with your family and friends as we think of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love this time of year, it's a little different being a missionary, being in Peru, and all the heat that's here in Ica, but that doesn't take away from what the season is really all about. I truly hope we all take time to remember our Savior this time of year and give thanks for all that He has done for us. I'm truly grateful to serve the Lord as a Missionary, for the expeirences that I have everyday.
Merry Christmas!
