Spontaneous

On Thursday night I asked my parents if I could come home and they said yes and got me a ticket home for Friday after class. I was so happy. Here's what I did:



(Movie), Rockies game, (Church), Enjoyed the outdoors, Hung out with my mom's dog and my dog, (BBQ-ed with the family), and Loved being at home.

Memory

When I was a kid my dad would read me books before I went to bed, these are also known as bedtime stories. I took a trip down memory lane today, for my Children's Literature class, and revisited my favorite book:

I'm not sure how many times my dad read this book to me but I loved it and remembered it so well when I opened up the pages of it in the library the other day.
"Officer Buckle says, Never stand on a swivel chair."
For class today we threw an author fair for the 4th graders at a nearby elementary school. I chose to do Peggy Rathmann, who wrote this favorite book of mine.


For the activity I had the children make paper bag puppets that looked like the dog Gloria from the book, they turned out pretty good.

It was great to take a trip down memory lane, as I so often do in this class, and remember how awesome it was to spend time reading with my dad. Thanks Dad, I Love You.

For all the posts about TV shows, I like them. Along with Grey's and Lost, I like Glee, The Office, and Modern Family. (Just an FYI). The next post won't be about TV shows.

The End

Last night I finally watched the



finale. SERIES finale that is. I was anticipating this the whole season to see how things would finally end, but now that I've seen it I am sad that the series is over (not going to lie I almost cried). In the future I'll have to watch the whole series again, until then I will go on without being lost every week and be satisfied with what the series came to.

And if you haven't seen I would highly recommend you take the time to watch it and get lost with me as well.

Finale

Oh ok...

Well this finale was INTENSE, Jenn (my roommate) and I had a list of who was going to get shot, because we knew from the previews a shooter was going wild. We were right on most of them and I was right on who was going to do the shooting. Fortunately it wasn't a cliff hanger, or I would have died right along with the rest of them.

Funnel Cakes

I pretty much don't like funnel cakes. They are greasy, greasy, and oh wait just a bit greasy. I just always associated them with grease and heart attacks whenever I saw them at the fair and where ever else. BUT today our FHE brother

Kyle
shared his talent and made us some funnel cakes.
And they weren't too bad... I dressed mine up with nutella, whip cream, strawberries, and bananas




But to get to this creation I am eating it took our "team" some work.
I cut the strawberries



Kyle finally figured out the recipe



We had a minor overflow of oil (don't worry we didn't start a fire) and after a few failures



We (Kyle) came out with this

I didn't...

Pretty sure I won't be hungry for the next week, at least that's what I feel like... I still am not a big fan of the greasy "treat", but the homemade one (as always) wasn't too bad.

Worth the Splurge

All day Saturday I had the Iron Man song stuck in my head. So as an apartment, with a few extra people, we splurged and went to go see Iron Man 2 at the theater. It was totally worth it, it wasn't as good as the first one, but it was good.

Jenn brought her own popcorn.
