Familia y Amigos,

Welcome to the mission, today is the day of transfers...again. My companion went to Colombia, because her visa came. Tomorrow I´ll be receiving my new companion who I´ll be training. I hope we´ll be able to stay together for a while and I can finish the entire 12 weeks of the training with her. (With all the changes I´ve only ever made it to the 3 week mark with the training program.) So today and part of tomorrow I´m in a trio with some other hermanas who are also going to train. We´ll see if there are any 19 year old hermanas that are coming in. In total there are going to be 46 new missionaries (3 Hermanas), I´m pretty sure its the most that have ever entered in one time, as far as I know. With the age requirements lowered, lots and lots of missionaries are coming in, but they´re entering in so fast that they don´t have their visas to actually go to their missions. This means that some come here to our mission, waiting here in Lima until it comes. It´s the life of the mission, coming and going, teaching and learning so many new things every day from so many different people. Really that´s all the news I´ve got from down south. Everything is going great here in Monterrico; it´s nice and hot here in the summer time and no they don´t have air conditioning anywhere. Hope you all are enjoying your winter up there in the States. I hope you have a great a week!

Love Always,

HERMANA HARBISON

Greetings from Perú!

I hope everyone had a great week! Nothing really new here in Perú, everything is going great. Here´s a picture of me and my companion, Hermana Vizurraga.

She´s going to go to Colombia for her mission and she´s here waiting for her visa in these coming days. She´s from Perú and we´re here in Monterrico together.

Really nothing new coming from down here in the South. The sun and summer is coming on and we can feel it everyday. I love it. Have a great week!

Love Always,

HERMANA HARBISON

Greetings from Monterrico, Surco, Lima, Perú!

What a week to say the least. I had an emergency transfer because I was being eaten by bugs. Yup bugs. The first round of bug bites happened about two weeks ago, they all gave me an infection and then my feet swelled all up, sorry it´s gross. Then I was cured and working hard. Then just as I finished the pills of anitbiotics I got a new round of more bug bites and another infection and I swelled up. The mosquitos here are different than America and my body doesn´t like them at all. Well the President was super worried about my health so he called me on Monday night and informed me that I had a emergency transfer to Monterrico here in Lima and that I had to be in the office at 12 noon the next day. Well that night I packed all my stuff up and at 6:30am was off in the bus to Lima. I arrived, talked more with the President who told me he needed me here in Lima for my health (because there aren´t as many bugs here) and that I was going to do good work here in Monterrico, he´s the best. Well really the transfer time isn´t over, but we received 9 new missionaries that are temporary waiting for their visas, so that´s why I was able to get a new companion and what not. Mine is named Hermana Vizurraga from Huancayo Perú. She´s going to serve in Colombia and she already has her visa and at the end of the month is going to her mission; and then I´ll get another new companion. There´s the story that´s how I ended up here in Lima again. I know I´m supposed to be here and I´m ready to do work.

Monterrico had Elders here on Monday and now we´re opening up the area with Hermanas. Our area lives up to its name, Monterrico, (which translates into rich hill) and it´s HUGE. We have to take buses and taxis and then a lot of walking wherever we go. We still don´t know much of the routes and what not so we get lost almost everyday. It really is an adventure.

It was hard to leave my companion and my area in Ica, but I truly know this is where I need to be at this time in my mission. I hope you all have a great week!

Love Always,

HERMANA HARBISON

Happy 2013!

Well 2012 went by way too fast, that's for sure. I hope everyone had a safe and happy time ringing in the New Year. I was pretty much asleep but I think I heard people counting down to ringing in the New Year, if I'm not mistaken it wasn't part of my dream. Really nothing too exciting happened here in Peru this week. It's super hot here in Ica. The climate is like Colorado in the summer time. Hot during the day and cool with a little breeze at night. We have to drink A LOT of water everyday and the sun still drains you. Fortunately, with training my companion we are inside study during the hottest parts of the day so it's not too bad. I really hope everything is going great wherever you may be! I hope this new year brings on new goals and great things in your life.

Love Always,

HERMANA HARBISON
