"You know that I love you boy, hot like Mexico"

Ahhh, there's nothing like a good Lady Gaga song to make a video. Em and I decided we'd do another one before the semester was over. And this will probably be my last one for a long time, this one took 4 hours; but it was all for your enjoyment. Once again there is no video, just stills. Enjoy!

Six

My roommates, Emily and Sarah, and I went down to Logan to visit the temple there. We know that we are blessed to have one so close here in Rexburg, but we wanted to travel to witness the beauty of other temples around us. Click here to learn more about this old and wonderful temple.

On the way home, we spontaneously decided to stop at the Idaho Falls temple (all thanks to billboard on the side of the road inviting drivers to visit the visitors center there). Sarah and I had never been before and we thought it'd be the perfect time.

It was a long day of driving, I went just a little crazy, but it was all worth it. I have now been to 6 beautiful temples in my life and am grateful for every single one of them!

Motto of The Week

This week has been crazy in my life, dealing with school and the "joys" of living with strangers. But I was able to get through it all with the help of my Heavenly Father, my wonderful roommate Emily, and this quote:

"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good."
-Samuel Johnson

Golden Birthday

Wow I have awesome roommates and FHE (Family Home Evening) brothers. Here's a summary of the wonderful day I had.
I woke up on my birthday and walked out to a beautifully decorated apartment courtesy of Sarah, Emily, and Amanda:

It was a wonderful peaceful day, no class, no gym. Just basketball and Mean Girls (the movie that is). But that was just the day, our brothers came over and the party began...

Well kind of...I was surprised with gifts from my apartment and the boy's apartment:

My roommates got me 17 Again (they know that I LOVE Zac Efron), Jared, Ryan, and Christian got me a game known as White Lies, and Darron made me a crock pot dinner.

We took a quick roommate picture:

Then headed off to Red Robin, unfortunately in two separate cars:

Red Robin was AWESOME. I love the food, the company, and the singing was semi-pro:

After a delicious dinner we went to go see Alice in Wonderland.

Thank you all for the wonderful night and wonderful day! It was the best golden birthday ever! Especially you Mommy and Daddy!

Creation

My roommate Emily is a member of the Relief Society (check out this website to learn more about the church and Relief Society) presidency in our ward and was unable to find a teacher for the lesson on Sunday (today) on Saturday night. So seeing that she was in need of some help, I offered to give the lesson on the creation for the half hour time. Me being an elementary education major I was grateful for the opportunity and practiced offered to me. As I was preparing the lesson I learned so much more about the creation than I would have if I were the student. After all the pictures, video, and discussions, I thought it went well and enjoyed teaching my fellow sisters!

SLC

Even though Rexburg is in the middle of no where, it's only three hours away from Salt Lake City. I needed to go shopping (which I found some great stuff from the shopping part) and Emily had the brilliant idea to go to the temple while we were down there. The Salt Lake City Temple was amazing, as we call it the mother-ship of all the temples. It was the first time I had ever done baptisms for the dead in that temple. The spirit felt there was amazing and the stress from traveling melted away. All in all I am grateful to be able to go down safely and share this wonderful day with Emily! Here's some pics:

(Oh and we made a quick stop to In n Out to enjoy some delicious food!)

Afterhours and Photobooth

I live the 308 or you could call it 3-0-great, because some of the people in this apartment are pretty great. Well Tressa (my room-roommate) and I were terribly bored on Wednesday night and whipped out photo booth on my good old mac and had fun. Here is the evidence to prove it:

We hadn't master the whole mirror image thing just yet.

Awkward Mustaches

Our hands say "I'm so freaking excited."
It goes along with this skit from SNL.

I got this beautiful flower in class for having a birthday coming up (March 19 by the way, just throwing that out there).

There you have it my friends, college at BYU-I after curfew!

Best and Worst Dressed

Last night the Oscars was on, one of the only reasons I watch it is for the dresses. The trend I noticed was long, glittery, neutral colored dresses. My favorite was for sure Cameron Diaz's dress:

I just love how simple yet beautiful it is.

Plus you've got the worst dress, in my opinion it was Sarah Jessica Parker's dress:

To me the silver on the top has potential, but other than that the color isn't great and there's really no shape to it at all. And what's up with that thing (for lack of a better word) around her neck?

Anyways this is just me venting to the world about stars' fashion. But the awards weren't too bad either. Avatar didn't take home as many as I thought it would, that's ok it was still a good movie.

Good Book

For my humanities class we had to read a book that had been banned or challenge at some point. The list she gave us was limited; we had a set time to read it and discuss the book with other people in our group. I chose to read A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

It is now my new FAVORITE book. I'm not going to summarize it or tell you what it's about, because I want you to go and read it as blindly as I did. I love it because he writes it so beautifully and it's such a gripping book. I'm not going to tell you any more, just read it and let me know what you think! In the mean time I'll be reading Night by Elie Wiesel for that class as well. I'll let you know what I think of it when I finish.

"He ate my heart"

There's not much to do here in Rexburg, Idaho, but we make the best of it. For example, my roommate and I made this video this past week. Just sitting on the couch we whipped out the camera on my computer and then decided to make a video out of them. It took 2 days worth of pictures and 3 hours of getting the timings perfect but it was worth it!

P.S. There are no videos in this whole thing, they are all stills.

Hello World

Tonight I decided to start a blog. I like reading about other people's lives so I thought I'd write about my own. Sorry if you don't like it, but hey you don't have to read it. Enjoy!
