Family and Friends,

I hope everything is going great up there in the States. I was informed that a snowstorm passed through Colorado. That doesn´t happen here in Perú, at least here in the south. Another transfer day today, but for the second time in my mission, I don´t have to transfer. It´s fine with me because my companion is great and we´re doing some great work here in Monterrico. I asked my companion what was something exciting that happened this week and she said that we achieved the goal of 6 investigators at church yesterday. I feel bad that I totally forgot because it really was something exciting. Other than that nothing new and we´re ready to take on this new transfer. Hope you all have a great week!

Family and Friends,

Great week this week! My companion and I had the opportunity to help 3 people enter into the waters of baptism this Saturday. As always, it was a great experience.

From the left: Hermano Fierro, His Son (he helped baptize), Elder Siguenza, Leonardo, Giselle, Ana, Myself and Hermana Toral, Leonardo and Giselle are brother and sister and Ana, her son was baptized a few weeks ago and we were able to teach her and help her be baptized. It was a great experience!

So we heard this week that the Pope resigned or something like that. Well funny story time: Pope in Spanish is El Papa and potato in Spanish is La Papa. Well while contacting someone he asked about el papa and I said well it doesn´t talk about la papa in the bible so I don´t know much about that. He didn't realize that I said "the potato" but my companion did and I did too so we had to contain our laughters while trying to teach him the truth of what´s up. Just some spanish humor for you all. When we got home we had a good laugh about it, because really I don´t understand why pope in spanish is basically the same as potato.

Family and Friends,

Thanks for reading my blog, don´t think I´ve expressed my gratitude but thank you all for the support! Life here in the field is going great! Tons of teaching and learning going on here. Really nothing out of the ordinary is happening these days here. I just asked my companion what was something exciting that happened this week and she told me it was when she killed a cockroach the other day. Really that´s all the exciting news I´ve got from here down south. Next week I´ll have more and maybe even a picture! So get excited! Take care this week!

Buenas Dias!

I hope everyone had a great week! I recieved my new companion! Her name is Hermana Toral and here she is:
She´s from Ecudaor and is part of this mission. She´s 20 years old and seriously so great! She´s adapting to the missionary life with me as I´m training her here in Monterrico. She really is a great missionary and is ready to do work which I love.

The missionary work is coming along quite nicely. We are helping some great people progress towards baptism and I love doing my job and part in the process. Personally I´ve learned so much about so many different things here in Monterrico and I´m grateful for all the experiences I´ve had and will have in the time to come.

Just an update, today I´m going to get my haircut for the first time since April of last year. I´m so afriad to do it here in Perú´s salons, so the President´s daughter offered to cut my hair. I´m pretty excited for a new look.

That´s all the exciting news that I have from Perú. Until next time, have a great week!

Love Always,
HERMANA HARBISON
